A Real Scourge all the Same

I'm invading your zones because I'm BORED. TOUGH LOVE BABE.

That warp ring's pretty fun, but I'm starting to notice some funky stuff going on..

Scourge grasped the gem as Slash pushed it into his hands. Without another word he ran out of the zone at mach speed leaving a gust of wind that blew away some of the robots. The ground changed from the rustic purple marble to healthy green grass as he whisked along. He checked behind to make sure no one was following, though he doubted that as he had used his full speed. He stopped dragging skid marks into the grass and dirt for a good few meters. The sun hung lazily in the sky beaming down on the floating rotating platforms and white columns, the Aquatic Ruin zone was buzzing with badnik activity as arrows went flying timed in sequence. Figuring he had enough time to spare he walked over to the ledge of the section he was on and sat down paddling the tips of his shoes in the water. He held up the gem to the sunlight turning it over wondering if he could use it himself to turn super.

He dodged and dodged each laser, before throwing a pebble at one robot so hard it went right through its circuits, making it shut down.  He jumped form robot to robot, before he ran towards a direction that was similar to the one Scourge took.  One robot catched up, only to get kicked in the nuts and bolts.  He then ran off again, before getting launched away farther by a spring.  He saw the forests, and a few barely-noticable marks made by Scourge.  ”Huh…” He looked back to see the robots right on his tail.  ”Son of a—” He ran off again, headed for the woods.

Tapping into the energies of the gem Scourge felt a tremendous power surge through his arm to the rest of his body. Like electric shocks it was wild and sporadic. His fur started to change to purple but the surge began to hurt like hell. The gem shone and released a violent amount of energy. Scourge yelped and released the gem in shock. The red bobble dropped into the water with a plop and sunk it’s way below. Once he realized he had accidentally let go he leaned over the edge staring down into the darkness of the water. He watched it nestle itself onto the lakes floor. Sweat began to bead down from his forehead. He would definitely go get it but he couldn’t swim! Just as he was panicking on how he would retrieve it, a red robotic fish swam around the gem poking at the new item.

“N-no! Don’t you dare! D-” Just as he was finishing his sentence the fish ate the gem and sped off away from him.

He jumped, did a 180 in midair, let his back land on a branch, let it bend, get off, and let it swing the robots heads off.  ”That takes care of them.” He then ran off to meet up with Scourge, before seeing him looking at the lake.  He stopped right next to him, before asking, “Yo, Scourge, why the face?”

Scourge visibly jumped nervously as he snapped his head to look at Slash. His shades slipped a little further down his nose. “Uh uh-” Jumping up he pushed his shades back to where they normally sat.

“It was crazy man! All these robots freaking jumped out at me! I just managed to get here but one of them grabbed the gem out of my hand and dove into the water!” He lied through his teeth.

His face turned to a ‘o.o’, before he sighed.  He went over to a tree, tore off a sharp branch, went over, pulled a bush off it’s roots, before he went over to the water.  ”Hold this for me would ya?” He said, taking off his jacket, before he dived down in to the water, branch and bush in hands.

Moments later, he resurfaced, with about 3 of the robot fish caught in the bush, with holes in them.  He put it on the ground, threw the branch away, grabbed a new one, and grabbed the bush and repeated, before resurfacing again with 5 more.  ”That’s all of them.  None of them had the gem.  You sure a fish ate it?” He asked.

((XD He never said a fish ate it!))

He stirred, before, slowly, his eyes opened.  His tattoos were now back at their original positions.  Hearing his question before, he slowly got up, stuttering.  ”Well..Heh.  Let’s just say…I ain’t your normal hedgehog.” He was now standing, before looking over at the now collapsed cave with small drips of lava oozing out from the rocks.  ”Eggman, he’s got to be the one behind this.  No one else can make something like that giant…robot thing.” He saw something in the rockets, something black.  His coat!  He went over, although slowly because of his drained strength, before picking it up and wearing it.  ”Scourge, you think you know where Egg—” He was interrupted as strange jet-like noises were coming.  He turned to see the robots from before!  ”Oh you got to be kidding me!”

Impatience was taking over, his foot started tapping like a nervous tick. “Say what kid, I’ll take the gem thingy for ya since I can run faster than you. Once they start chasing me I’ll lose them and we can meet up.” He held his hand out, palm up to Slash. The robots started to file in behind the green hedgehog.

He turned to Scourge as he spoke, before turning back at the robots.  ”Somethings not right here…” He spoke to himself, before shaking his head.  ”Alright, but I don’t think the meeting up part might be a good idea.  Just go!” He said, shoving the gem in to his hands, before he turned back to face the robots.  If Scourge were to leave with the gem, only a few robots would of left to chase him.  The others would stay for some reason.  ”I knew it!” Was all he could say before he had to dodge to avoid getting his face lasered.

Robots were chasing Slash, who was starting to get tired. “Ugh…HELP MEH!” He yelled, before tripping. “Fffffff!” The robots were pretty close now, lasers aimed at him

Hearing a loud cry and a hard thump Scourge curiously peeked out from behind a tree. He had been sitting around most of the day…

Slash was confused at the new hedgehog that looked similar to him.  ”What the hell?  You look like me…except I wear pants…and you have glasses…” He got up, before dusting himself off.  ”Who are you anyway?”

“Geez didn’t your mother teach you manners or common sense? That’s no way to start a conversation with someone who just saved your life.” He chuckles dryly. “Name’s Scourge.”

“i don’t know my mother.  My name’s Slash.” More robots started appearing.  ”Shiznit, there’s too many!  Let’s get outta here.” Without even waiting for a response, Slash dashed off.

“H-Hey!” He wasn’t too pleased about being cut off but he wasn’t about to stay and say hello to the moving mass of metal. (:D Say that five times fast) A laser fired off hear his feet causing him to jump to attention. He started to run after the younger hedgehog. “What the hell did you do to piss them off?!”

“I don’t know!  I just picked picked up a strange red orb and bam, robots chasing after me!  Speaking of which…I wonder.” He took out the red orb from his jacket.  It glowed strangely.  ”You wouldn’t know what this is, would you?” He yelled, putting it back in to his jacket.  As he ran, he slid on to his legs, grabbing a sharp branch, and slid back up, on his feet and running again.

Catching a glimpse of the orb Scourge could definitely tell that he had no clue what that object was. “Well it’s not Anarchy Beryl, that’s for sure. It’s damn well gotta be worth something if you have these many goons chasing you.” He sped up a little until he was a good four meters behind. Curiosity got the better of him, maybe, just maybe this orb was worth while stealing. He could swipe it and leave the other to fend for himself against those tin-heads. “Did ya ever think of maybe, you know, lettin’ it go? They might stop chasing you if you do.” A wry smile crossed his features.

“Actually, now that I’ve got this…” He showed the sharp branch.  ”I think I could have some fun with these jacks.” He skidded to a stop, turning to face the robots.  A laser was shot.  Using the branch as a spring, he jumped up, dodging the laser, and was headed towards the robot mid-air. He stabbed right through it with the sharp branch, before pulling it out and then kicking it at another robot.  He jumped up, before spinning horizontally, dodging bullets being shot at him before landing and stabbing through another robot.  He ducked just in time to avoid a laser, before ending the battle by throwing the branch at the robot’s head, making it explode.  And all of that was just 10 seconds using a sharp branch.

Sourly watching Slash go wild on the robot Scourge mentally pouted. Okay, so that plan went out the window fast. The kid was pretty strong when well equipped, he’d have to find a way around that. He points to the right, “Hey kid we might have a chance to lose these tin-cans if we head this way. There’s an old destroyed ruin just a bit further out.” He flashes a sly grin at Slash as he starts to run off deeper into the forest.

Without even thinking, he dashed off along with Scourge. “All of a sudden, you look familiar…Remind me of a hedgehog having his shades stolen.” More robots started to chase after him.  ”Ya know, I think we’re going to be pretty cool friends…”

He had to stifle a gag to the mention of ‘friends’. He attempted to quickly change the subject, “A loooot of people say I remind them of somebody. Maybe I just have one of those faces.” Dodging trees he skidded to a stop when the ground changed to a broken purple marble. He banked a sharp left running into what seemed to be a small opening of a cave. He waited to the other hedgehog to run in and gave a spindash to cause the front of the cave to collapse. The dust finally settled and he coughed a few times. “There I think that should hide us for a bit.” He flicked off a few chunks of rock from his leather jacket.

“Yeah, but we’re trapped in here…Oh boy.” He looked around, to no u—Silver:IT’S NO USE!  …..right….no use, because he couldn’t see anything.  ”I don’t see anything…” He put his hand in to his pocket, taking out the orb, before focusing.  A small dim light shone from the orb, showing a pathway leading deeper in to the cave.  ”Looks like our only way out.”

After his eyes adjusted to the faint red glow he looked down the path that was illuminated. “This place is riddled with holes so I figured it would be a safe bet. If we find a current of wind we’ll find the exit. Though I’d watch my footing if I were you, there’s plenty of lava and lots of unstable platforms.”

He listened to Scourge’s explanation as well as scanning each room.  ”Unstable platforms, huh?  No wonder you’re randomly above me.” Slash just randomly poofed on to a lower platform.  ”Must be collapsing….Wait, oh crap!” He jumped on to Scourge’s platform, before the one he was just standing on collapsed.  ”Crap.  RUN!” The platform behind them started falling, and he just ran like crazy, trying to guess whichever cave had the most wind.  He took the cave that had wind, which I honestly have no idea which one it was since I can’t see anything, I’m just typing.

Scourge jumped quickly as he noticed the platform crack under the weight of both of them. As he hopped his way up the crumbling platforms he saw a large silver chain that was bolted to the top of the cave. Jumping hands outstretched he grabbed onto one of the links swinging himself across a wide gap in the bottom of the cave. He landed neatly on the completely opposite side. As he turned around, possibly to gloat an eruption from below caused the lava to spike up a few inches from his face. Looking up he saw the red light go through one of the many dark tunnels.

Getting the idea that perhaps this wasn’t the best time to be talking he found another slab of crumbling marble to his right, it was somewhat connected to the wall of the cave. Thankfully for him it was just under where Slash had dove into. Jumping on the platform and revving up a spindash he launched himself up the side of the cave. Uncurling he grabbed for the edge and pulled himself into the tunnel. Hearing a large crack he looked back down seeing that most of the bottom of the area had collapsed under the lava. He ran after Slash.

“WHO THE HELL MADE THIS CAVE?” As they ran, a tunnel with light at the end was visible.  ”My butts on that one!” He ran towards that tunnel, hoping to be outside.  Instead, he found himself on a ledge with lava below.  ”Son of a duck!” And very randomly, a caption in the air appeared.  ”Boss time!  Lavapagos!” It said.  ”Whoa, why’d everything go game-bit on us?” A giant turtle with a shell and head made of lava with most of it’s other body parts made of bones appeared.  ”I don’t think we can get out unless we beat this thing.  We don’t have much time either.  See?” He pointed up, towards a counter that read ‘Time start.  7:00…6:59…”

“Crap!” The lavapagos then attempted a fire-breath on them.  Slash jumped out of the way on to a platform with vines attaching it to the walls.  There were vines all over the room.

Scourge flattened himself against the tunnel wall as the fire shot through roasting everything in it’s path. He smelt the faint aroma of burning sneakers and cussed dancing around to put them out. Seeing the timer above he cocked an eyebrow but didn’t give it much thought. It wasn’t as though this was the weirdest thing he’s ever seen. The lavapagos let out a deafening roar and snapped it’s gaping  maw at the green hedgehog.

“Going to do something crazy!” He grabbed a vine, and started swinging around the room to the back of the turtle’s view, which was currently focused on Scourge.  He yelled out stupidly, but tarzan-ly.  ”OOOOOYOYOYOOOOOOAAOOOOH!” He reached the back, before seeing something that could be a weak point.  ”Found a pink gem on his ass!” He took out the red orb, before it shot a laser at it.  ”GEMINI LASER!” And the shell literally detached from the lavapagos and in to the steaming lava. The back was exposed, and it had strange robotic materials growing out of it.  ”Eggman!” He then shot another laser at the robot parts, but it just deflected.  ”How are we gonna kill this thing?” He then realized that the shell wasn’t the only thing made of the fall-auble material.  The helmet!  ”Scourge, find a way to get the helmet off!  I’ll try and get this thing fried.” And with that, he put the orb back in to his pocket, and then gave a deep breath.

“How the hell do you want me to do that? It’s made of fucking lava! Unlike someone I don’t have projectiles!” Side stepping the chomp from the creature he cursed some more. He couldn’t hit the lava covering the lavapagos’ head but the neck supporting it was made out of bones, those could be broken easily. He jumped down curling up into a deadly pinball and smashed into one of the vertical bones. Uncurling after the impact he grabbed the next bone and swung himself up repeating the process at a high speed. As the bones shattered the monster roared again but this time in agony. It began to thrash and the neck started to collapse inwards. Making sure to keep his balance as everything started to fall down he looked up and saw another gem buried under the head. Jumping straight up he kicked the gem at full force. The creature’s lava ‘helmet’ slid off leaving it exposed.

“Hey man time to do your worst! It’s wide open!”

By the time he finished his breathing, Scourge had done his job.  The timer now read 3:00.  He took off his jacket, revealing strange tattoos on his arms.  They glew in a red color, before they literally moved down his arms and on to his palms…or glove palms, whatever.  They glew brightly, before Slash jumped up, spinning.  And he then released a ton of energy, before his skin turned orange, his spikes stood up, and his pants were…umm…I don’t know, ‘fwooshing’?  He was now, somehow, in super form!  He then spin dashed towards the skull, right at the cranium, making it crack slightly.  He kept on going, before he managed to get through the skull, breaking it completely.  He flew up and then over the shell.  ”This looks interesting…” He flew down in to it, before coming back out, leaving numerous holes.  2 minutes left!  And the lavapagos exploded in to bits.  ”Time to get outta here!” Without even warning him, he flew over to Scourge, grabbed his hand, and flew towards a tunnel, and out the cave…which took 2 minutes.  The cave went boom..or exploded.  He let go of Scourge, before he fell weak.  ”God damnit!” He changed back to normal form, before he fell down on to the ground, knocked out.

Scourge blinked “How the hell did you do that?!” He had never seen anyone invoke a super form without any emeralds/beryls before, he was rather impressed. Though impressed and passing up an opportunity were two separate concepts. He poked the hedgehog to make sure he was responding.
